A lot of science has done the work to show that visceral fat, the fat surrounding organs in the abdominal cavity, is very much like any other gland in the endocrine system. This means that visceral fat produces it own hormones and messages. Other organs that release hormone signals are glands such as the ovaries, testes, pancreas, the adrenals, and the pituitary gland in the brain.
Visceral fat is not the same as subcutaneous fat, which sits just beneath the skin. The messages and signals released from fat tissue are pathogenic. Which means that many of the messages promote disease.
So, not only is visceral fat cumbersome, it is also dangerous! We now know that visceral fat:
- Controls signaling related to appetite.
- Generates insulin resistance, which is a prerequisite to Type II Diabetes.
- Increases sensitivity to pain.
- Inhibits muscle growth.
- Releases pro-inflammatory messages.
What is interesting about pro-inflammatory messages that are produced by visceral fat is that they take part in what is known as a viscous cycle. In other words, inflammation that originates in visceral fat tells the body to make more fat!
The solution is diet modification! We recommend the candidiasis diet. Be forewarned, its a difficult to maintain diet but you may feel better than you ever have.
A couple of interesting articles highlighting diet changes that helped athletes optimize athletic performance.
- Is Novak Djokovic’s new, gluten-free diet behind his win streak? Novak began eating a gluten free diet and his performance improved.

I take issue with the cynical Doctor who said it was all just in Novak’s head. Food allergies are real and the benefits of avoiding certain foods is also real. I’m allergic to gluten and when I avoid gluten, around day 14, my body detoxes and I feel sick for about 3 days. When I wake-up on the 18th day I feel GREAT! I’m more alert, the mental fogginess is gone and my body starts dropping excess pounds…until the Thanksgiving/Christmas holiday season rolls around and so do I.
The old-school knowledge that “sugar is bad” is being refined and new research sheds more light on the negative health effects of sugar. The research reveals that fructose, not glucose, is the cause of many health problems. Agave and High Fructose Corn Syrup are the two worst offenders as each contains over a 50% concentration of fructose within it’s molecular structure. Some health food brands brag about using Agave but I would reach for a product made with organic sugar before the Agave product. For this reason we recommend a sweetener/sugar free diet or Stevia which is easier said than done.
What’s wrong with Fructose? It is being directly linked to many of the common developed world diseases such as Diabetes Type 2, certain cancers, insulin resistance and many more.
So, how about fruit? Apples have fructose and God designed us to eat of “every seed bearing fruit” (Genesis 1:29) so how could apples possibly be good for us? When eating an apple, the apple’s fiber binds to the fructose and it is eliminated from the body. However when in juice form, the fructose has no fiber bound to it so the body absorbs the fructose. The juice’s (also carbohydrates, especially bread) sugar content promotes unhealthy bacteria which in turn promote yeast growth which leads to leaky gut syndrome and other digestive diseases. In the same way refined and processed foods present problems to the body’s digestive and elimination systems which are central to good health. Often the more refined the product is the greater the health problems within the human body. For this and other reasons juice fasting diets are not healthy.
Other artificial/diet sweeteners are also not good for your health. Their harmful effects include cancers, neurological damage and more. So the raw diet, caveman diet and such forms of eating are best for human health which happens to lineup with the original creation account found in the Bible which tells the story of God creating man and placing as caretaker of a
